Walter of Henley lived in the thirteenth century. 'Husbandry', written in Norman French during the second half of the century, and covering all aspects of the rural economy, is his only known work. Henry Thomas Riley (1816-1878), translator and antiquary, was educated at Charterhouse School, London, and Trinity and Clare Colleges, Cambridge. He was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1847.
